Land Use or Zoning Concerns

Historic homes, well-kept yards, and urban gardens are some of the many things we value in our neighborhood.  One of FNA's top priorities is preserving and maintaining its historic single-family character.

The following are examples of land use and zoning concerns violations that may need resolution through the filing of a formal complaint:

  • Cars parked on lawns, across sidewalks, or on other landscaping.
  • Garbage or discarded indoor furniture in yards.
  • Unmowed lawns or vegetation overgrowth into the right-of-way.
  • Garbage cans left at the street for more than 24 hours.
  • More than five unrelated people living within a dwelling.
  • A standard R1 city lot with two dwelling units that are both filled with renters and no owner living on site.
  • Zoning infringements you feel may be occuring, such as building additional dwelling unit(s) on an R1 lot or other structural changes to create additional living spaces.

How to File a Complaint:

1.  Submit the Complaint:  Complete and submit the confidential form via the City of Eugene website at: http://ceapps.eugene-or.gov/pddonline/codecompliance/complaintstart

2. Send Photo(s) to :  It is extremely helpful if you can also send a photo or two to the City of Eugene Inspectors at CEINSPECTORS@ci.eugene.or.us.  In the email subject line, include the relevant street address.

3.
